Custom big roll sod harvester automation project - STARTED in 2024, and Continuing…

Current System

• Requires 2 operators

• Minimal ability to adjust cutting blade pitch or cutter head downforce

• Manual Steering, stopping after each roll

• Manual mat speed, tube injecting, net wrapping, and tipping

Target Future System

• Project started in 2024, and still in development

• Will only require 1 Operator

• Will use Autonomous Steering

• Cutter Head Control of Adjustment of:

  • Pitch

  • Speed

  • Downforce, which will drastically improve our ability to harvest in adverse (Wet) soil conditions

• Automatic mat speed, tube injection, netting, and tipping
